May 23, 2006Friends in High Places
Once again Shelly Klein of K Studio (my neighbor from down the street) is making a huge splash this year at ICFF, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in NYC. She was one of three artists to create fabric to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Eames Lounge Chair by Herman Miller. I am so proud of her work and to be able to call Shelly a friend. It gives me hope that the creative power in this small town of Grand Rapids can be put on the World Stage. Check out Design Sponge's coverage of ICFF. Shelly will be one of a handful of artists and designers in Grand Rapids that will be part of the West Michigan Design Collective that I am forming for debut this fall. It will feature some of the best design and art coming out of the area. More details to follow. Posted by Michael at May 23, 2006 04:58 PM |
